Luckett family ready to emigrate to Australia.
The Luckett family
This was the last photo of the Luckett family before they emigrated to Australia. They once lived in the thatched cottage at the top of Mitchell Lane, before moving to Millfield Close. They moved into Wilburton from London during the war when Mr Luckett was based at the searchlight battery down at Twenty Pence river. Denny Luckett worked for Mr Ruane on his farm in twenty pence , every morning on the way to work he would whistle the horse & feed it a round of bread ,one day someone else was working the horse ,when Denny went to work he whistled the horse & ran over two fields to meet him & get his bread.
