The Reverend Henry Charles Sillery Vale Vicar of Wilburton who in June this year obtain a years leave from the bishop in order to do war work was killed on Wednesday night while driving a car on Red Cross business on the road in Catterick Yorkshire. It is believed he was involved in a collision with a motor lorry but full details have not been received at Wilburton. Mr Sillery Vale had been associated with other places in Ely district apart from Wilburton he has a curate at Little Downham from 1931- 1932 & at Soham from19 32 to 1933 formerly a soldier he left the Royal Military Academy in 1912 and in 1913 was commissioned in the Royal Artillery he served during the Great War and afterwards held various diplomatic consular posts abroad he resigned from the Foreign Office in 1930 and entered Ely Theological College
